Eligibility - General Info (All students):

 

The student must have been a full-time legal resident who has resided in the Putnam Central School District during the graduating school year, and upon graduation, for a cumulative total of four (4) years.

 

The student must have been accepted by a college, university or technical school in order to receive an award and must enroll as a full-time student (minimum of twelve (12) credits per semester). Full-time online students may also be eligible to receive an award.

 

A student is eligible to apply for a scholarship until age 24, but will not receive more than four (4) total scholarship awards (8 semesters total). Students do not need to continue their education immediately after high school graduation, nor do they need to complete their education in consecutive years, to be eligible for an award.

 

All applicants must complete the application in its entirety including the essay and submit it on time to be eligible for an award.

 

Official transcripts are required from institutions of learning to verify grades.

 

All qualifying applicants will receive an award. Awards may vary from year to year depending on the number of applicants and the amount of money available for distribution.

THE AWARDS COMMITTEE:

The Awards Committee consists of the Superintendent of the Putnam Central School, A member of the Putnam Parent/Teachers' Organization, the Guidance  Counselor(s) of the Ticonderoga High School, and the appointed liaison from the Board of Directors of the Putnam Founder's Fund Corp who shall be the chairman.

 

Any of the above persons having a family member as an applicant shall obstain from voting concerning that applicant.

 

The Awards Committee shall examine all applications and reserves the right to consider extenuating circumstances in all areas.
